 1942 photo - Executions of Kiev Jews by German army mobile killing units (Einsatzgruppen) near Ivangorod Ukraine. The original German inscription on the back of the photograph reads, "Ukraine 1942, Jewish Action [operation], Ivangorod."

 The U.S. Navy hospital ship USS Tranquillity (AH-14) arrives at Guam, carrying survivors of the heavy cruiser USS Indianapolis (CA-35), 8 August 1945.
