Iranian Studies, James F. Goode writes on Iran’s 1972 assistance to Oman to
quell a Marxist rebellion in that country.
The Shah of Iran acted without consulting the US or Great Britain and in
opposition to his many Arab neighbors.
However, the action brought saved the Shah of
Oman and strengthened the ties between the two men.
